We have a fantastic panel lined up to update you on amazing urban forestry projects happening in your borough, plus learn more about the upcoming citywide Urban Forest Plan and how you can get involved. 

Micro-funding: Learn about the Citizens Committee NYC's mission and microgrants program and how they support urban forestry projects. Presenter: Sage Cleghorn, Development Associate at the Citizens Committee NYC.  

Mini Forest! Learn about NYC’s first Miyawaki Method pocket forest of nearly 1,500 trees and shrubs on Roosevelt Island and how this project was created and supported. Presenter: Christina Delfico, iDig2Learn.

LIDAR for tree canopy: Find out how The Nature Conservancy is analyzing LIDAR data to evaluate NYC’s tree canopy. Presenter: Deanna Kreinheder, Interdisciplinary Scientist at the Nature Conservency. 

City-wide urban forest Plan:  New York City is creating the first urban forestry plan, which will focus on best practices in maintaining and expanding the tree canopy and community engagement. Presenter: Paul Onyz Lozito, Deputy Executive Director Mayor's Office of Climate and Environmental Justice.
